Dayara Bugyal is a beautiful and vast high altitude meadow undulating from 3050m to 3300m in altitude. Camping experience on this trek is one of the finest experiences that one can have on Himalayan treks of similar difficulty. The spectacular view from the top includes Bandarpoonch, Draupadi-ka-danda, Srikanth, Rudragaira, Gangotri I,II,III, Jaonli, Black peak and many other unnamed peaks.

The Dayara Bugyal trek is  short and easy paced. It is suitable for people of all ages and interests. Highlights of this trek are villages, forests, meadows and excellent Himalayan views. For first timers, families with kids and even experienced trekkers, this trekking route is apt for all. This trek can be undertaken almost throughout the year. In the summer months the meadows are lush green and carpeted with wild flowers, whereas in the winter months the possibility of a snow experience is very high.

ITINERARY

Day 01 : Drive to Uttarkashi

Early morning pickup from Haridwar/Rishikesh, drive about 7 hours to reach Uttarkashi, overnight at guest house near Uttarkashi.

Day 02 : Uttarkashi-Raithal-Guyee

Trek starts from Raithal, which is about 2 hours drive from Uttarkashi. Today trek from Raithal to Guyee (2600m). The trek from Raithal village almost constantly climbs gradually along the village fields to enter a forest area. We would cross further near a shepherd shelter to arrive at Guyee meadows, overnight camp.

Day 03 : Guyee to Dayara Bugyal

Trek Guyee to Dayara Bugyal (3050m), on a constant ascent through forest. As the tree line thins towards the top we reach the vast open meadows of Dayara Bugyal. Overnight camp near the meadow.

Day 04 : Bakariya Top

Early morning hike to the Bakariya top which gives a vantage 360 degrees view of the surrounding peaks and the Assi Ganga valley. After spending some time on the summit we return to Dayara Bugyal for a relaxed afternoon at leisure. Overnight camp.

Day 05 : Dayara Bugyal to Barsu/Uttarkashi

Trek Dayara Bugyal to Barsu, would be a long descent. Overnight guest house.

Day 06 : Drive to Rishikesh/Haridwar

Road trip to Rishikesh/Haridwar for onwards journey.

INCLUSIONS

  • Travel arrangements ( non AC ) ex Rishikesh/Haridwar.
  • Two nights stay at guest house and three nights in camp on twin share basis.
  • All meals during trek.
  • Suitable camping gear including tents, sleeping bags, and cooking/mess arrangements.
  • Trekking/camping permits, Forest/National parks entry fees/permits, all necessary legal paperwork & documentation.
  • Porters/mules for luggage transfer of guests
  • Comprehensive first aid kit.

  • Train/Air fares up to and from the starting and ending points.
  • Meals and refreshments during the road journey and during hotel stays.

This tour is operated from October to June months. Best experience can be had from October to December and from March to May. Snow experience is possible from late December to late March.


Personal torch, small daypack/backpack to hold the day walk necessities, all clothing/luggage in rucksack/soft bags suitable to be carried on ponies, warm clothing, inner fleece body warmer lining, comfortable shoes suitable for hikes/treks, windproof jacket, warm headgear/balaclava, gloves, trekking pole, cameras, personal medication ( first aid would be provided ), sun protection and moisturizing cream etc.

Please pack compact and only necessary items. Do NOT bring any stroller bags or any hard suitcases. Ideally you should have a backpack for your day requirements carrying water bottle, jacket, cap, lunch, gloves etc. and a duffel bag for your main luggage which is to be transferred by ponies.

Nearest airport- Dehradun ( Jolly Grant ) 25 kms
Rishikesh is well connected by road.

We can provide pick & drop ex Haridwar or Dehradun at additional expense.


Guests will be picked up from Tapovan, Rishikesh, NH58, Badrinath Highway.
More accurate pickup location and timing would be coordinated closer to the departure date.


INDEMNITY/DISCLAIMER AGREEMENT

All participants are compulsorily required to sign a disclaimer form that legally indemnifies TEAM 4 ADVENTURE and all team members against any mishappening on the tour. Prospective participants are required to understand this, and enroll for the tour only if they consent to the same.

CAMPING AND WILDERNESS DISCLAIMER
  • This tour involves camping in the wilderness, and guests are expected to rough it out, if situation so demands.
  • During most of the tour period, we would away from road support and any formal medical facilities. Communication to the outside world would also be severely limited.
  • Any evacuation would be demanding and costs for the same would be borne by the participants concerned.
  • Due to weather disruptions, road blocks, land slides and other situations which may not be under our control, the tour can get delayed or modified. Any costs or losses arising due to such unforeseen situations would be borne by the participants.
  • No personalized/room service is possible.
  • All meals and refreshments would be served in the common mess area at decided timings.
  • Toilets are tented dry pit based.
  • Bathing facility may not be possible.
